Global fashion magazine i-D has returned to newsstands this week featuring 3 exclusive covers.
Global fashion magazine i-D has returned to newsstands this week with three exclusive covers from the world of music, fashion and acting. ’The Unknown’ issue is (ironically) headlined by arguably one of the biggest names in fashion, Naomi Campbell. She’s joined by two multi-talented guests, actress Ezra Khoury - who beat 800 others to be part of the trio (See Instagram), and English singer-songwriter FKA twigs.
As reported by The Guardian this week, i-D has relaunched as a “revival” of fashion magazines. The piece named ‘Tangible & collectible: i-D back on shelves as gen Z revives fashion magazines’ talks to magCulture’s Jeremy Leslie about the title and its return. He notes in the piece about the importance of the tangible - “young people are really interested in print. They use the internet but print is where the excitement lies. They want something that is tangible and collectible.”
Originally launched by Terry Jones in 1980, i-D magazine was placed on pause after its purchase by Bedford Media. According to Wikipedia the relaunch this Spring brings the magazine to newsstands on a biannual basis. Thom Bettridge is also credited to be the brand new Editor-in-Chief of this new era.
