“When Life Gives You Lemons…” Taschen write. The Gourmand has long been known for their food and culture printed magazines. Having not released an issue since 2020’s 13th issue featuring a pop art style Coca Cola can on the cover. To find out what The Gourmand have been up to since then, we must dive into their Instagram and discover the world of eggs - their first volume with Taschen released back in 2022. Fast forward to 2024 and we can celebrate the release of the second book in the Taschen series - ‘Lemon’.
Across 272 pages, the second book continues their food journey. On their website The Gourmand writes, “Lemon is an in-depth exploration of the literary, linguistic, historic, and gastronomic legacy of lemons, where the line between food and art is happily blurred. Following on from The Gourmand’s Egg, Lemon is the second volume in our established book series, published by Taschen. Lemon features a foreword by celebrated cook and author Simon Hopkinson, an in-depth introduction by writer and author Jennifer Higgie, twenty-four compelling and unexpected stories illustrated with acclaimed artworks and photography - plus over fifty zesty recipes with exclusive photography by Bobby Doherty.”
